Both portraits are clearly designed to present the sitters in a favorable light

the wonderfully well and boldly stitched vellum bucket of beautiful cigar colour showing a wonderful patina and one side of large diagonal stitches to a collared rim and to a stitched bottom

The drawer is made from seventeenth century period timber but may be later

suspending from its beak on a chain
