A rare Chelsea-Derby empire-pattern saucer. c.1770See our new website periodceramicsandantiques. org. Description. A very rare pattern. Superbly decorated, with green laurel swags descending from gilt 'hooks', interspersed with floral wreaths. Underglaze blue bands to the base and rim of the piece. Each of those aforementioned areas elaborately and beautifully gilded. Blue Derby mark. Condition. In excellent antique condition. Dimensions. 13cm in diameter. See our new website

apart from minor fading to the right hand side of the mount

We cannot find any comparable handle for any of the Liverpool manufacturers

but the second letter appears to be a J

probably made by Wedgwood

to the lids of the inkwells and to the reverse of the piece
