Sightings 28/09The Sightings series of paintings was prompted by the opportunity to exhibit in Gisborne. Although the works are abstracted, and retain geometrical features, especially the triangle, they do read as landscapes with cliffs seen in profile behind foreground ocean. They have overtones of the coastal profiles made by early navigators from shipboard. By depicting the landforms in black and white, Tune gives a somewhat ephemeral quality to the imagery
