1968 Original French Railway Travel Poster, Basque Country (Linen Backed)Date: 1968 Size: 24. 75 x 39. 25 inches About The Poster: The SNCF (Socit Nationale des Chemins de fer franais; "French National Railway Corporation"), is France's national state owned railway company. Begun in 1938, it used posters from its inception to advertise the multitude of destinations which were served by its rail lines. We feel that this poster, created shortly after the company itself was created is a wonderful testament to Art Deco design:
