Plum Street Samplers ~ A New ConstellationA NEW CONSTELLATION This design is my telling of the story of America's most famous seamstress, Elizabeth Griscom, also known as Betsy Ross. At the top of the sampler is the declaration made by the Continental Congress when they adopted the flag on June 14, 1777. This sampler features Quaker elements, as Betsy's family were members of the Society of Friends. It also portrays Betsy's marriage to John Ross in 1773, their attendance at Christ Church
