As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental management and investment, PCL Group has achieved ENVIRO MARK GOLD level status from Toitū. As New Zealand’s original environmental certification programme, Toitū provides resources and support to businesses to implement credible and effective environmental management systems.
PCL Group participated in Toitū’s five-step programme which helps to identify and reduce environmental impacts, save money, and understand corporate legal obligations. The Enviro-Mark programme is owned and managed by Toitū Envirocare, a wholly owned subsidiary of Landcare Research, a government-owned Crown research institute at the forefront of organisational sustainability.

FSC and PEFC are not-for-profit, independent and non-governmental organisations that were established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. PCL Group actively supports sourcing paper products that are recognised through forest management schemes such as FSC and PEFC.
We understand paper is our largest environmental footprint and we support recycled paper printing becoming more prevalent in the marketplace. At PCL Group we print on recycled papers with the highest environmental credentials such as:

PCL Group strives to create a positive impact on the environment & community. In doing so we have adopted policies, principles, and practices to improve the quality of our products for our consumers. Aligning with emerging government requirements, initiatives have been put in place to reduce energy consumption and greatly minimise waste. We have improved our carbon footprint and emissions which also assist in reducing costs.
At PCL we use vegetable-based ink and our paper stock is sourced from responsibly managed forests. Through these sustainable print practices, we are continually improving our environmental performance for the care and protection of the environment.
All paper stocks that we recommend are FSC certified, Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) and ISO 14001 accredited. They are sourced from forests with PEFC – Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.
Our production facility utilises the latest technology from globally recognised manufacturers, who have environmental sustainability at the forefront of their ethos, and we adhere to their sustainable practices
All wastage or minimal surplus are recycled wherever possible. We are actively implementing environmental accounting standards and green procurement policies. Member of EcoVadis (European leaders in global sustainability benchmarking).

With a fully entrenched Lean Manufacturing Programme steering the business, performance against agreed lead times is monitored through established milestones and reported on to management.
